When I started racing in the early 70's the grids at Club and National level were still made up of a great variety of British, Italian and Spanish machines. The arrival of the Japanese production racers a year or so later changed that completely and the 250cc grids soon became a mainly Yamaha event.
One marque that did hold out for a short time was the pushrod engined Aermacchis, which made up for a power decifit with light weight, low centre of gravity and exceptionally fine handling. I love my little 250, which is shown opposite.
I am building my collection of 1970's Yamaha racers but still need the following to complete the set:
TZ750
TZ250/350C, D or E
